Podium
A messaging and reviews service for local businesses, which chases reviews by text and drafts replies to the ones that arrive.
Nobody has checked this listing against the vendor on a given date. What it says about the tool is believed accurate and describes what the tool is sold to do, but no price, feature or policy below has been confirmed by an editor. Anything marked not checked is exactly that. What we have and have not checked.
What it is good at
Stands out for
- Text-message first, which is how a lot of local customers actually prefer to talk.
- Genuinely aimed at local service businesses rather than software companies.
Where it falls down
- Quote-only pricing and, by repute, a firm sales process.
- Text messaging has its own per-message costs on top.
Jobs it is a candidate for
- Reply to my online reviewsBuilt for this
Strong on getting reviews in the first place, by texting customers after the job.
- Reply to customer messages when I'm not thereDoes this well
Texting is the main channel, which fits trades and local services better than website chat.
