Otter.ai
A transcription service that joins your online meetings, or records in the room, and produces a searchable transcript with a summary.
Nobody has checked this listing against the vendor on a given date. What it says about the tool is believed accurate and describes what the tool is sold to do, but no price, feature or policy below has been confirmed by an editor. Anything marked not checked is exactly that. What we have and have not checked.
What it is good at
Stands out for
- Records in a room from a phone as well as joining online calls, which suits businesses that meet in person.
- The transcript archive is genuinely searchable.
Where it falls down
- Free-tier minutes run out well inside a normal working week.
- Accuracy falls off with strong accents, crosstalk and poor microphones.
- It joins meetings as a visible participant, which some clients dislike.
Jobs it is a candidate for

Joins the call by itself and produces a transcript you can search months later.
