Mailchimp
Email marketing software that holds your mailing list, handles unsubscribes and the legal footer, and will draft the email for you.
Nobody has checked this listing against the vendor on a given date. What it says about the tool is believed accurate and describes what the tool is sold to do, but no price, feature or policy below has been confirmed by an editor. Anything marked not checked is exactly that. What we have and have not checked.
What it is good at
Stands out for
- Handles the mailing-list rules properly, which is the part that carries legal risk.
- A free tier that covers a small list while you find out whether you will keep it up.
Where it falls down
- Price steps up sharply with list size, and it counts subscribers you never email.
- The drafting help is fine, but the first and last lines still need to be yours.
Jobs it is a candidate for
- Write the email I keep meaning to send my customersBuilt for this
The boring parts — list, unsubscribes, footer, deliverability — are the parts that actually matter, and it does them.
- Keep my social media going without it eating my weekDoes this well
It will post as well, though a dedicated scheduler does it better.

Our assessment
We have not reviewed Mailchimp. It is listed because it is a genuine candidate for the jobs above, not because anyone here has judged it.
