Squarespace
A website builder with strongly designed templates and a guided setup that drafts your pages from a description.
Nobody has checked this listing against the vendor on a given date. What it says about the tool is believed accurate and describes what the tool is sold to do, but no price, feature or policy below has been confirmed by an editor. Anything marked not checked is exactly that. What we have and have not checked.
What it is good at
Stands out for
- It is hard to make something ugly, which is the right constraint for most small businesses.
- Good on phones without you having to think about it.
Where it falls down
- Trial rather than a free tier, so there is a deadline on making your mind up.
- Same lock-in question as the rest of the category: ask what you can take with you.
Jobs it is a candidate for
- Get a simple website up without hiring anyoneBuilt for this
Better-looking defaults than most, at the cost of less freedom to rearrange things.
