About FOBIE
Real problems. Useful AI. FOBIE.ai is a directory and review site for AI apps and automations, organised around the jobs people actually want done rather than the companies selling them.
The problem we are building for
AI tools are sold in language built for people who already know the category. “Agentic workflow orchestration” is not something anybody wants. Not retyping the same booking into three apps is something plenty of people want.
Almost every directory is organised the first way, which means you can only find something if you already know what it is called. FOBIE is organised the other way round.
Meet FOBIE
FOBIE is the character and, in time, the way you actually use the site. For developers: tell FOBIE what you built, and he helps get it listed. For everyone else: “Tell me what you're trying to accomplish, and I'll help you find tools built to do it.”
He is guiding the developer application today. The conversational version comes later, and we would rather ship the honest version of it first.
What we will not do
- Payment will never determine where a product ranks. Not as a policy we promise to keep, but as something built so that we could not do it quietly if we wanted to. Any sponsored placement, if we ever run one, will be labelled and kept out of ranked results entirely.
- We will not call something a review when nobody used it. A listing is a listing. A review carries a named editor and the evidence behind it.
- We will not fill a blank with a guess. Where we do not know, the site says we do not know.
Who publishes it
